Karpathos has a modern international airport (AOK), located 14 km from Pigadia. It is connected daily to Athens, Rhodes, and Crete via flights operated by Olympic Air, Aegean Airlines, and Sky Express. Flight schedules vary according to the season. The flight from Athens takes about 1 hour and 10 minutes. Additionally, Karpathos is served by flights from Thessaloniki, as well as seasonal charter flights connecting the island to various European countries during the spring and summer.

Karpathos is accessible by ferry from Piraeus, as well as from various Greek islands.
